Eye Say; Have A Happy New Year!

The holiday season is over and come January we will have started 2020 off with a bang. Now I know we will all be coming out of our food comas as we recover from over-eating all that delicious holiday food. Let’s get the New Year off to a good start.  Break out that exercise equipment that has been collecting dust in the garage and start sweating to your favorite podcast. You can also ramp up your nutrition and before you know it, it will be March and you’ll be on your way to the fitness summit or at least moving that direction!

Southside Eye Care supports you in your efforts to look and feel the best.  Some strategies for getting there include: shooting for getting into shape and that includes your best eye health too.

You can start by scheduling an annual eye examination. That exam will let you know where your current visual system stands and how healthy your eyes are. It will help you determine whether you need a new prescription for glasses or contacts so that you can see and look your best. You may need a more extensive examination to evaluate for medical eye conditions as it’s always important to make sure you have your eye medication from a previous condition, such as glaucoma, updated and refilled.

If you are currently being treated for diabetes, high blood pressure, an autoimmune disease or if you’re on a drug that could have adverse ocular side effects, then a dilated eye exam is a necessity. Several of these conditions may need additional testing that your primary doctors cannot perform and will recommend follow up with your eye care professional. Remember, some visual conditions have subtle symptoms, so a complete eye exam is encouraged.

This year your goals may include more emphasis on taking care of your eyes. If you would like to improve your appearance, a fresh hair-do and a new pair of glasses can make a big difference. If your goal is to be free of your glasses and contact lenses, LASIK may be an answer for you. Likewise, if you’d like to look less tired and more refreshed you may want to have your droopy eyelids evaluated for surgical repair in 2020.

Everyone wants to be the best they can be every day.  Celebrating the New Year inspires us to set new goals.  Southside Eye Care is committed to helping everyone achieve his or her desired looks and best vision in 2020.

Have a terrific New Year!
