Eyelid reconstruction is typically performed after a patient has had surgery performed when skin cancer or other lesion has been removed from the eye.
Causes of Eyelid Reconstruction
- Removal of a malignant lesion (Moh’s procedure)
- Trauma
- Removal of a non-malignant lesion

This procedure would primarily be done when there is a lesion that has been removed. Either from benign or malignant lesion removal or trauma.
Complications of Eyelid Reconstruction
Several complications may occur:

- An unbalanced appearance
- Difficulty closing your eye
- Bleeding
- Infection

Eyelid Reconstruction can include areas of the eyebrows, upper cheek, and nose. Skin grafts may be needed from other parts of the body such as the ear or neck.
