Eyelid reconstruction is typically performed after a patient has had surgery performed when skin cancer or other lesion has been removed from the eye.

Causes of Eyelid Reconstruction

  • Removal of a malignant lesion (Moh’s procedure)
  • Trauma
  • Removal of a non-malignant lesion

Symptoms of Eyelid Reconstruction

This procedure would primarily be done when there is a lesion that has been removed. Either from benign or malignant lesion removal or trauma.

Complications of Eyelid Reconstruction

Several complications may occur:

  • Scarring
  • An unbalanced appearance
  • Difficulty closing your eye
  • Bleeding
  • Infection

Eyelid Reconstruction Surgery

Eyelid Reconstruction can include areas of the eyebrows, upper cheek, and nose. Skin grafts may be needed from other parts of the body such as the ear or neck.
