I absolutely love Southside Eye Care. The staff is always pleasant and make you feel comfortable and at ease. The doctor's are knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have. For approximately 10 years I considered laser correction surgery for my eyes but I was terrified. I had been wearing glasses for 29 years and contacts for 24 years. I had known people who went through with the procedure with great success. Turning 40 this year, I decided to at least see if I was a candidate as a gift to myself. At my consultation, Dr. Keverline found that I was a candidate for the procedure. He thoroughly explained the process and was able to contain my fear. The same day, I had an appointment scheduled for the procedure. The day of the procedure, all of the staff were friendly and understanding. They made sure I was aware of every step and my follow up was just the same. I have had 20/20 vision for the first time since I was 10 and it is life changing. I’m only upset that I waited so long. Several years ago, the thought of being able to have my vision corrected was merely a dream. I was as close to blind that one could be without being “legally blind.” Waking up to noises in the middle of the night could be terrifying if I couldn’t fumble quickly enough to find my glasses. I desperately wanted LASIK surgery but was worried that I wouldn’t be a candidate and wouldn’t be able to afford the cost. My family and I have been patients of Southside Eye Care for many years. Not only do they have the most amazing support staff, but their clinical staff is highly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. Dr. Hallberg and I had discussed the possibility of LASIK at each of my annual eye exams and I had researched it for a number of years. In late 2017 I decided to take the plunge and scheduled my initial consultation with Dr. Keverline. I had LASIK surgery in mid-February and the results have been truly astounding! From the moment I arrived at the facility on the day of the surgery to the time I left later that afternoon, I was grinning from ear to ear! I remember Dr. Keverline saying he had never had a patient who smiled while the flaps were being lasered! Although I was slightly nervous about the procedure itself, I had every confidence in Dr. Keverline and had been thoroughly prepared by Dr. Keverline’s assistant, Ann Parker. The post surgery results have been nothing short of life-changing. Being able to clearly see the time on my phone without bringing the phone within two inches of my eyes when I wake up in the middle of the night or being able to see around my room if I wake up to a noise is something I treasure and will never take for granted!
